How do you create a good reader? Practice, practice, practice. Children need to read widely and read deeply. The Nonfiction Minute exposes them to the "widely" part but the introduction to our authors may be the incentive to read deeply. Remember our authors are already in your school libraries. Happy Reading for 2018!
Lately, we've been getting comments on our posts. We make an effort to have the author respond to every responsible comment. Some comments, however, are kids just fooling around and we delete those. This might be an opportunity to teach your students some proper protocols for posting on the internet.
We give 'em reading that gets 'em talking!
